The instrument of Ba\u011flama, which has been shaped within many years in the rural areas and has a rich and profound history, began to create its tradition in the urban areas after the establishment of the Turkish Republic. In the past, this instrument mostly passed down the vocal melodies; however, now it is agreed by many music authorities that it is about time it must be a part of instrumental music on its own as well.<\/p>\n
The primary purpose of this book is to contribute to Ba\u011flama new tradition without ignoring its richness dating back to old times. This book involves twenty works composed in the tunings of ba\u011flama, of bozuk, of misket and of müstezat.
