Jack London was a Socialist for most of his life. He had seen great injustices done to the working poor in America and in London. 

This book contains seven essays expounding his views on capitalism and socialism. “The Scab” highlights his views on unions, while he gets personal in “How I Became a Socialist”. His writings took place before the rise (and subsequent failure) of Communism in the Soviet Union.
